“We met with 5 Endurance distributors before deciding on DC21, whose knowledge and experience impressed us, particularly Matthew Tidmarsh’s, whose turbine product knowledge and the wind industry as a whole was unsurpassed in our experience. It also helped that their pricing was spot on too! DC21 managed the whole project faultlessly, the turbine arrived when expected and the installation was a joy to watch and went without a hitch. There are a lot of different aspects to a turbine installation and we were particularly impressed with the way that they had plans in place for any ‘what –if’s’ that might have cropped up. Non actually did, but you could tell that they had a lot of prior experience, and this made the whole process stress free, enjoyable and seamless. We cannot recommend them highly enough. We expect that we are one of only a few people whose toddler said ‘Turbine’ as one of her first words!”
Edward Embrey, Higher Overton Farm
Installation of an Endurance E-3120 wind turbine with the new blades by DC21 in Congleton.Higher Overton Farm is a 150 acre dairy farm near Congleton in Cheshire. The farm has been run by the same family for close to 50 years. The family had been looking for ways to diversify and looked at various options before deciding on a wind turbine, which was chosen as it gave the fastest return on investment, whilst also lowering the farms carbon footprint.

“I am really happy to say that we received a brilliant service from DC21, along with great communications from the team. Even when the Endurance turbine was new, it had never sounded so quiet. Previously you could always hear the ‘whoop whoop’ of the blades but now it’s barely noticeable!”
Tom Elliot, Elliots Egg Farm
“The project was well managed from planning approval, even with some issues from the local planning authority, right through to installation. Despite the weather and Northern Power Grid frying the farm electrics DC21 got the turbine commissioned without significant delay. In operation the turbine is much quieter than we expected, and the DC21 team do an excellent job on keeping the turbine running well.”
Stephen Thompson, Povey Farm
Moss Valley Fine Meats is an award winning local butchery located in the heart of the Moss Valley and on the outskirts of its nearest town, Sheffield. The Butchery is on-farm and only carefully selected breeds of pigs pass through it. The farm is family run, with the 4th Generation, Stephen and Karen now farming there.
The farm consumes a large amount of electricity and Stephen and Karen wanted protection against future energy prices whilst also improving green credentials.
Having already invested in a Photovoltaic System and micro wind turbine, after recommendation Moss Valley approached DC21 for the planning approval and installation of an Endurance E-3120 wind turbine.
“I always thought our farm would be a good location for a wind turbine, the wind always seems to blowing up there, but didn’t really want the cost and risk of developing the site or running the turbine. DC21 enabled me to access the benefits of having a wind turbine on the farm without any of the hassle. The field where the turbine has been built has our training circuit for the horses, I thought we might need to introduce the horses gradually, but not one has been bothered by the turbine. A couple of our Shetland ponies like to shelter from the wind and rain right under the turbine.”
Melvyn Eastwood, Round Ings Hall Farm
Round Ings Hall Farm is a Trotting Stable and Beef Cattle Farm on the Pennine Hills near Huddersfield. DC21 developed the wind turbine project in 2011 following discussions with the farm owner Melvyn Eastwood.DC21 carried all of the project development risk, and following planning approval in September 2011 the turbine was commissioned in December that year. Melvyn now enjoys a healthy rent payment and cheap electricity for use on the farm.
“If the wind energy scheme had not been installed and approved the windfall that this represents for the local and national economy would have not have been achieved.”
Andrew Donalan, Carr Hall Home & Garden Centre
“The turbine is great and is saving us money. We are very pleased with the company that installed it and we are considering putting another one up”
Manager, Garthorpe Farm
DC21 have successfully completed the installation of a wind turbine on a farm in Garthorpe despite the farm being situated on unstable ground. The farm is owned by the Garthorope Farming Company (GFC), an arable farm that grows peas for Birdseye. The farmer saw the potential to be able to make savings from his energy bills from the wind conditions on his land and sought DC21 for their help.
When DC21 were carrying out their surveys they concluded that a wind turbine would make significant reductions to the companies energy bills, however the land in question would not be suitable for an ordinary turbine installation procedure. To overcome this obstacle DC21 employed a piled foundation to 10m depth. This was successfully achieved without any impact upon the project delivery time.
Garthorpe Farming Company are now enjoying reduced savings upon their energy bills.
